Clearly this is a souvenir doll from Las Vegas, unidentified except for Made in China on the box.  At a height of 12 in., she is made of soft vinyl, is nailed to a stand, and wears a bonded glitter show girl suit. Tiny red heart earrings are all that is removable. She came out of the box in a cloud of flying feathers.

These three 9 in. dolls represent China, Turkey, and Spain. I made them with a one-piece cotton stuffed body with attached arms and legs.

Except for one, these dolls are all from India. The doll in front is a 7.5 in. seated musician with cloth mask face, and cotton body. L to R in back, we have a 7.5 in. celluloid Saudi; a 10 in. dressed in a rose brocade sari, gold and pearl jewelry, made of vinyl and fully jointed; a 12 in. dancer with plaster head, stuffed cloth body, and wire leg supports for standing, wearing a brocade skirt. Pearl jewelry and glitter trim; and a 9 in. doll, all cloth with mask face.

The chimney sweep, holding his ladder, tips his stovepipe hat  to the gamekeeper.

The Ideal Doll Co. made this 16 in. Betsy Wetsy all vinyl drink-and-wet baby. The body is marked © 1983 CBS Inc. Ideal 7518. Doll makers during this time often made white-toned dolls such as this rather than skin-toned dolls.

Mme. Alexander’s 16 in. cloth Muffin dates to the mid 1960’s. I made this one from a pattern in Woman’s Day magazine.

Ideal Toy Corp. B23 identifies this Suzy Playpal 24 in. baby doll, circa 1960. She has been redressed in a 6 to 12 month infant size Polly Flinders dress with knit booties. She is all vinyl, jointed, with strung arms, rooted hair, with a squeaker in her belly. Ideal made many such large babies and toddlers.

The V pin on this doll’s sweater identifies her as Furga’s Valentina from Italy. She is holding baby Nana`. Her original box shows that it came from Milano, Italy. These dolls were among my daughter’s favorites.
